FYE Winter Camp is coming soon!
FYE Winter Camp will be divided into two parts this year. FYE Winter Camp Part I will happen virtually on January 10, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. FYE Winter Camp Part II will be in February as an in-person workshop. Stay tuned for more details!
Mid-Semester Survey
The Mid-Semester Survey has been sent out via email by Kendria Mason, coordinator of First-Year Experiences. The purpose of this survey is to provide data on how students are perceiving their FYE courses. This will provide feedback on how the First-Year Experiences program can continue to improve the student experience.
Marketing Your Peer Educator Experience Virtual Lunch Chat
The Office of First Year Experiences will be hosting its final lunch chat for the semester on November 9. Hosted in collaboration with the Office of Career and Professional Development, this interactive session will teach Peer Educators how to market their peer educator experiences in job searches, interviews, resumes, and cover letters. Award Opportunity Provided by CETL
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, on behalf of the Office of the Provost, is currently accepting nominations for the 2022 University Exemplary Department or Program Award. This award recognizes the work of departments and programs that maintain exemplary teaching and learning environments for students and faculty.
Each year, the award focuses on a different theme. This year, departments and/or programs will be recognized for “creating and sustaining support for early career faculty to develop as effective teachers and/or to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.”
A total of $40,000 will be available for awards to the department(s) and/or program(s) to be determined by the selection committee drawn from the university community.
Nomination materials are due on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Did You Know that there are Maker Spaces available on campus?
Maker Spaces allow for students to create and test ideas in a collaborative environment. These spaces also allows students to work on projects that are related to their classes. The maker spaces provide specific tools and software that can support whatever students are trying to accomplish. Be sure to check the provided list for more information about the maker spaces and possible opportunities for collaboration.
