GEOS 2004: Geoscience Fundamentals

GEOS 2004 is a first-year experience course for GEOS majors.  Using a collaborative approach, we explore careers and help students build a career portfolio (resume, cover letter, career plan, and interview skills).  We discuss ethics in science, scientific literacy, and methods of research and communication. Students conduct a mini-research project on a broad geoscience theme and present findings in group presentations.
